Serhiy Rebrov: Tomorrow we will need only victory over Italy

On the eve of the decisive match of the Euro-2024 qualification against the Italian team, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Serhiy Rebrov gave a press conference.

— Both teams need a victory. We have reviewed our past game. I'm sure the players are ready, it will be a different game. I am sure there will be a lot of support in Germany at the stadium tomorrow. Tomorrow we need only victory.

How will Italy play? They have very skillful players who can play defense and attack, it is a very intense team. They played two days ago, but Italy always has multiple lineups. We have to be ready for an intense game.

This game will be different from the match at San Siro because this time the whole stadium will support us. Of course, this affects the psychology and motivation of the players. I believe we have a good chance. I always tell the players that you shouldn't be afraid of losing, you should be afraid of not doing enough to win. So we have to show our strength and show our best game.

It is one thing to play with Malta and North Macedonia, with all due respect to these countries. Another is to play England or Italy. Of course, this is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity to show yourself. I think we had a good home game against England. But in the away game against Italy, in my opinion, we made a lot of mistakes. So tomorrow we have to be more focused, responsible.
